Narrative:

I was serving as first officer on flight from gregg county airport in longview, tx, dallas love field, dallas, texas. After preflight of the aircraft and dispatch of flight, captain and I took off for dallas love field. During the flight about 25 mins out of dallas, I reached for my wallet, at which time I realized it was missing. After checking around my seat, I advised captain of my situation and I radioed dispatch in dallas that I could not find my wallet and that I would need a copy of my license and medical when we arrived. I was told on my chkride, by chief pilot, that in the event that we ever lost our license or medical, a copy would be acceptable until proper action to get another was completed. When I arrived on the ground in dallas, I procured the copy from dispatch, and proceeded to continue my duties until I could find my wallet. Upon arrival in dallas as well, our FAA poi was giving a line check to our next flight. He asked to see my license and medical at which time I gave him the copy and explained that I had lost my wallet this morning sometime. He said the document was not official and told me I could not take the next flight. I deadheaded back to gregg county airport where I began a search for my wallet. Upon retracing my steps for the morning, I got to my apartment complex where I had dropped my flight bag and accessories, and as well as my wallet at 0500. It had fallen under my stairwell and when I picked up my things, I did not see it. I recovered my wallet, medical, and license. I believe upon determining en route to dallas love field that my wallet was missing, I did all that was possible to correct this action.
