Narrative:

Contact with another hot air balloon. Lower balloon was climbing at 500 FPM and when I saw him, I tried to climb out of way. Contact was fabric to fabric or envelope to envelope, no damage to either aircraft. No injuries. Flight was made under an FAA waiver issued by lou FSS. I would not report except FAA has cited a balloon fabric to fabric contact in the past. There was no damage, but I feel like I should have looked closer behind and below.

Title: A HOT AIR BALLOON CLBED INTO ANOTHER BALLOON.

Narrative: CONTACT WITH ANOTHER HOT AIR BALLOON. LOWER BALLOON WAS CLBING AT 500 FPM AND WHEN I SAW HIM, I TRIED TO CLB OUT OF WAY. CONTACT WAS FABRIC TO FABRIC OR ENVELOPE TO ENVELOPE, NO DAMAGE TO EITHER ACFT. NO INJURIES. FLT WAS MADE UNDER AN FAA WAIVER ISSUED BY LOU FSS. I WOULD NOT RPT EXCEPT FAA HAS CITED A BALLOON FABRIC TO FABRIC CONTACT IN THE PAST. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE, BUT I FEEL LIKE I SHOULD HAVE LOOKED CLOSER BEHIND AND BELOW.
