The red light for the right main landing gear came on and went off, which is a normal indication. The green gear light for the right main landing gear remained off. The landing gear was cycled up and down, however, the same indication was observed. A go around was performed. The landing gear was cycled 2 more times. After the last cycling of the landing gear, a normal indication of the landing gear being down and locked was observed. The landing gear was left down for the remainder of the flight.
