Narrative:

Approaching southampton given holding instructions to hold as published at 'sam' VOR, was looking at low altitude maps area 1 and lo 1 for lsw for possible divert to cwl. Turned in holding pattern 212 degree radial, 032 degrees inbound, right turns as depicted on low chart. However, was level at FL260 in the high structure and should have held inbound on the 079 degree radial with left turns. Confusion due to looking at charts for possible divert because csw WX was 250 meters RVR and I was high minimums with 1370 meters required. So all low charts out for reference. Controller corrected us by stating our hold should be the 259 degree radial, left turns. We turned direct to sam VOR and set up correctly.
