Narrative:

I was on my commercial chkride and had completed all of the required maneuvers satisfactorily. I was setting up for an approach toward the active runway 33 slightly east of the runway. A piper cherokee announced on unicom that he was approaching from the south. He was southwest of me heading toward the downwind for runway 33 at 1400 ft. The examiner was controling the radio to announce our intentions and position for the emergency procedure. I told the examiner that I was reluctant to begin the maneuver. He suggested that I circle to the right and come back around for the maneuver. As I turned right, I saw the cherokee turn left. The cherokee then announced that he was over the field even though he was at least 1 mi southwest. He also announced that he was going to enter a left downwind for 33. After hearing this announcement, I turned back to a heading of 330 degrees and decided to complete the maneuver. By this time I was abeam the numbers. The examiner pulled the power and immediately turned crosswind to set up for the emergency engine out approach. I was to set up for a landing on the 1000 ft marker and needed to touch down within 200 ft of the mark. I turned base leg early and was high on the approach. I put in 30 degrees of flaps. The approach looked perfect at this point. I landed approximately 100 ft beyond my touchdown point. I did not notice the gear horn, although it was operational. The first indication I had that the gear was up was when the tail hit the ground. It was too late to go around. I made a smooth gear up landing. I believe that, due to the pressure of the chkride, because of the aircraft distrs and the simulated engine out versus normal landing procedure, I failed to perform the gump check.

Title: A TRAINEE PLT LANDED WHEELS UP IN HIS COMMERCIAL PLT CHK RIDE.

Narrative: I WAS ON MY COMMERCIAL CHKRIDE AND HAD COMPLETED ALL OF THE REQUIRED MANEUVERS SATISFACTORILY. I WAS SETTING UP FOR AN APCH TOWARD THE ACTIVE RWY 33 SLIGHTLY E OF THE RWY. A PIPER CHEROKEE ANNOUNCED ON UNICOM THAT HE WAS APCHING FROM THE S. HE WAS SW OF ME HEADING TOWARD THE DOWNWIND FOR RWY 33 AT 1400 FT. THE EXAMINER WAS CTLING THE RADIO TO ANNOUNCE OUR INTENTIONS AND POS FOR THE EMER PROC. I TOLD THE EXAMINER THAT I WAS RELUCTANT TO BEGIN THE MANEUVER. HE SUGGESTED THAT I CIRCLE TO THE R AND COME BACK AROUND FOR THE MANEUVER. AS I TURNED R, I SAW THE CHEROKEE TURN L. THE CHEROKEE THEN ANNOUNCED THAT HE WAS OVER THE FIELD EVEN THOUGH HE WAS AT LEAST 1 MI SW. HE ALSO ANNOUNCED THAT HE WAS GOING TO ENTER A L DOWNWIND FOR 33. AFTER HEARING THIS ANNOUNCEMENT, I TURNED BACK TO A HDG OF 330 DEGS AND DECIDED TO COMPLETE THE MANEUVER. BY THIS TIME I WAS ABEAM THE NUMBERS. THE EXAMINER PULLED THE PWR AND IMMEDIATELY TURNED XWIND TO SET UP FOR THE EMER ENG OUT APCH. I WAS TO SET UP FOR A LNDG ON THE 1000 FT MARKER AND NEEDED TO TOUCH DOWN WITHIN 200 FT OF THE MARK. I TURNED BASE LEG EARLY AND WAS HIGH ON THE APCH. I PUT IN 30 DEGS OF FLAPS. THE APCH LOOKED PERFECT AT THIS POINT. I LANDED APPROX 100 FT BEYOND MY TOUCHDOWN POINT. I DID NOT NOTICE THE GEAR HORN, ALTHOUGH IT WAS OPERATIONAL. THE FIRST INDICATION I HAD THAT THE GEAR WAS UP WAS WHEN THE TAIL HIT THE GND. IT WAS TOO LATE TO GAR. I MADE A SMOOTH GEAR UP LNDG. I BELIEVE THAT, DUE TO THE PRESSURE OF THE CHKRIDE, BECAUSE OF THE ACFT DISTRS AND THE SIMULATED ENG OUT VERSUS NORMAL LNDG PROC, I FAILED TO PERFORM THE GUMP CHK.
