Narrative:

On final approach to runway 18R we were cleared for a visual approach and told to maintain 2500 ft MSL until south of orlando executive. As we crossed over executive and began the descent for landing, we got a TA on TCASII followed by a RA requiring a 4000 FPM climb. At that time we visually acquired the traffic, a light twin, in a climbing left turn at 11 O'clock.. I initially followed the RA command but resumed the approach after we spotted the traffic. I don't believe there was ever a collision conflict because of procedural separation, but it certainly got the TCASII's attention. This will probably continue to be a problem on this approach in VMC.

Narrative: ON FINAL APCH TO RWY 18R WE WERE CLRED FOR A VISUAL APCH AND TOLD TO MAINTAIN 2500 FT MSL UNTIL S OF ORLANDO EXECUTIVE. AS WE CROSSED OVER EXECUTIVE AND BEGAN THE DSCNT FOR LNDG, WE GOT A TA ON TCASII FOLLOWED BY A RA REQUIRING A 4000 FPM CLB. AT THAT TIME WE VISUALLY ACQUIRED THE TFC, A LIGHT TWIN, IN A CLBING L TURN AT 11 O'CLOCK.. I INITIALLY FOLLOWED THE RA COMMAND BUT RESUMED THE APCH AFTER WE SPOTTED THE TFC. I DON'T BELIEVE THERE WAS EVER A COLLISION CONFLICT BECAUSE OF PROCEDURAL SEPARATION, BUT IT CERTAINLY GOT THE TCASII'S ATTN. THIS WILL PROBABLY CONTINUE TO BE A PROB ON THIS APCH IN VMC.
