Narrative:

Executed missed approach due to failure of right main landing gear down (green light) to illuminate. Visually verified gear down with control tower and copilot visually verified over-center lock locked using periscope. The design of the gear lights makes relamping difficult at best, necessitating visual inspection in MD80.
