Narrative:

We were heading approximately 150 degrees at 3000 ft being vectored by center for visual approach to gnv when we received a TA and then an RA on the TCASII to descend. Traffic was not in sight and we complied. At approximately an altitude of 2600 ft we sighted the traffic which looked like a single engine low wing aircraft of type small aircraft. We advised center and he said there was no traffic. We told him that we got a visual and that altitude looked good and he said he would report the event. When we were later handed over to gnv tower they said we were handed over with no position report.
