Narrative:

Before taking off on runway 35 I observed 1 small aircraft single engine land in left traffic for runway 5. I waited until he was past the intersection on his touch and go then took off. After takeoff I made a right turnout, climbed and turned downwind for 35. As I turned base for 35 I decided to make a west departure from the traffic pattern. My departure path was south of and parallel to the taxiway. This path led almost over the end of runway 5. The traffic I was watching was over the departure end of runway 5 and was not a conflict. I did not observe another single engine land small aircraft on high close-in left downwind for runway 5. When I observed the second single engine land small aircraft my heading was 280 almost abeam of and south of the approach end of runway 5. The second single engine land small aircraft was in a left turn almost over the numbers at 800 AGL. I perceive he was deconflicting with me. My errors were: not flying a standard departure when braking off my approach to runway 35, and flying a path which intersected with the approach to runway 5. I became disoriented and didn't realize that a path paralleling the taxiway would intersect with the approach path to runway 5. The wind was out of the north at 8 KTS.

Title: PLT OF AN SMA SINGLE ENG LAND ACFT NMAC WITH ANOTHER ACFT APCHING TO LAND AT AN UNCTLED ARPT.

Narrative: BEFORE TAKING OFF ON RWY 35 I OBSERVED 1 SMA SINGLE ENG LAND IN L TFC FOR RWY 5. I WAITED UNTIL HE WAS PAST THE INTXN ON HIS TOUCH AND GO THEN TOOK OFF. AFTER TKOF I MADE A R TURNOUT, CLBED AND TURNED DOWNWIND FOR 35. AS I TURNED BASE FOR 35 I DECIDED TO MAKE A W DEP FROM THE TFC PATTERN. MY DEP PATH WAS S OF AND PARALLEL TO THE TXWY. THIS PATH LED ALMOST OVER THE END OF RWY 5. THE TFC I WAS WATCHING WAS OVER THE DEP END OF RWY 5 AND WAS NOT A CONFLICT. I DID NOT OBSERVE ANOTHER SINGLE ENG LAND SMA ON HIGH CLOSE-IN L DOWNWIND FOR RWY 5. WHEN I OBSERVED THE SECOND SINGLE ENG LAND SMA MY HDG WAS 280 ALMOST ABEAM OF AND S OF THE APCH END OF RWY 5. THE SECOND SINGLE ENG LAND SMA WAS IN A L TURN ALMOST OVER THE NUMBERS AT 800 AGL. I PERCEIVE HE WAS DECONFLICTING WITH ME. MY ERRORS WERE: NOT FLYING A STANDARD DEP WHEN BRAKING OFF MY APCH TO RWY 35, AND FLYING A PATH WHICH INTERSECTED WITH THE APCH TO RWY 5. I BECAME DISORIENTED AND DIDN'T REALIZE THAT A PATH PARALLELING THE TXWY WOULD INTERSECT WITH THE APCH PATH TO RWY 5. THE WIND WAS OUT OF THE N AT 8 KTS.
