Narrative:

Oil filter bypass light illuminated. Crew ran procedure in manual -- no help. Began precautionary engine shutdown. Meanwhile, oil quantity was reducing. Engine was shut down. Declared emergency and landed at closest suitable airport, crw. Later discovered an oil line had ruptured. Approach and landing uneventful. Company wanted us to land at columbus, oh, or cincinnati, oh. Both were 40 mi or so farther than crw. We landed at crw since it was the closest suitable airport (VFR, runway long enough, etc). Concern: we had no charts for this airport. FARS intimidated us to land at crw although we would have preferred to land at one of the other 2 airports due to longer runway, charts, etc.
