Narrative:
Air carrier X on final approach runway 22R at ord, descending on GS we received TCASII TA followed by RA. -- 'Do not descend.' copilot flying, stopped descent. Looking at TCASII scope, intruder target appeared to be directly at our position, then moved off to easterly direction. I questioned approach controller about traffic Y and he stated it was controled traffic.

LOOKING AT TCASII SCOPE, INTRUDER TARGET APPEARED TO BE DIRECTLY AT OUR POS, THEN MOVED OFF TO EASTERLY DIRECTION. I QUESTIONED APCH CTLR ABOUT TFC Y AND HE STATED IT WAS CTLED TFC.
