Narrative:
TCASII RA involving air carrier X and VFR small aircraft at 1300 with intentions unknown. Small aircraft reversed course and converged with air carrier X at 3000. Small aircraft indicated 2000 climbing rapidly. Air carrier X climbed to 3500 until traffic no factor. The problem is an uncontrolled airport with significant VFR traffic near final approach course for ags. I saw the conflict but air carrier X took action before I could re-issue the traffic (had already been called once, 1300 indicated, and air carrier X replied he saw traffic on TCASII). TCASII assisted the IFR traffic in missing a VFR, but this situation will happen again.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: ACR X TCASII RA WITH VFR SMA IN TRSA. EVASIVE ACTION TAKEN. SEE AND AVOID CONCEPT.
Narrative: TCASII RA INVOLVING ACR X AND VFR SMA AT 1300 WITH INTENTIONS UNKNOWN. SMA REVERSED COURSE AND CONVERGED WITH ACR X AT 3000. SMA INDICATED 2000 CLBING RAPIDLY. ACR X CLBED TO 3500 UNTIL TFC NO FACTOR. THE PROB IS AN UNCTLED ARPT WITH SIGNIFICANT VFR TFC NEAR FINAL APCH COURSE FOR AGS. I SAW THE CONFLICT BUT ACR X TOOK ACTION BEFORE I COULD RE-ISSUE THE TFC (HAD ALREADY BEEN CALLED ONCE, 1300 INDICATED, AND ACR X REPLIED HE SAW TFC ON TCASII). TCASII ASSISTED THE IFR TFC IN MISSING A VFR, BUT THIS SIT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN.
