Narrative:

I was training on jfk departure and had cpr X that was climbing northbound to 17000. I stopped him at 13000 when I realized he was going the wrong way. There was an air carrier Y in that area also climbing through 13000. I eventually told cpr X to maintain visual separation and turned him. The mitigating factors were the trainee had other aircraft also coming together. I had a handoff man and I wasn't close enough to see the strips. That's why I didn't catch the fact that cpr X was going the wrong way. When I caught the error, I already had an airspace deviation and possible deal.
