Narrative:

While returning from a pleasure flight to north eleutnra (myeh) to drop off some friends, I had cancelled my VFR flight plan with nassau radio and had overflown the island of elbow cay reporting that I was 6 mi east of marsh harbour and that I would be entering a downwind leg to be landing on runway 9 at marsh harbour. I continued west also reporting that I was then at the eastern shoreline of the island of great abaco and would be entering a downwind leg. When I was abeam the crosswind an small transport passed directly beneath me at approximately 25-50 ft. He continued his crosswind and then turned onto a downwind departure. He made no type of evasive action so it appears he did not see me at all. The small transport passed so close that even with my head set on I heard the noise of the engines and my airplane shuddered. I then called on 122.8 and asked if any aircraft in the area of marsh harbour had heard an small transport on the frequency. Several aircraft responded with a negative. I then continued a standard pattern reporting my position as required by bahamian law as well as by the FAA, and landed. I asked the FBO if he had heard the small transport make any calls and he had not. I then proceeded to customs and told them of the incident and they provided me with the n-number and the pilot's name. He had apparently backtracked and departed a very busy, uncontrolled, international airport svced by several international airlines, without reporting on his radio or perhaps with his radio on the wrong frequency.

Title: SMA HAS NMAC WITH SMT IN TFC PATTERN.

Narrative: WHILE RETURNING FROM A PLEASURE FLT TO NORTH ELEUTNRA (MYEH) TO DROP OFF SOME FRIENDS, I HAD CANCELLED MY VFR FLT PLAN WITH NASSAU RADIO AND HAD OVERFLOWN THE ISLAND OF ELBOW CAY RPTING THAT I WAS 6 MI E OF MARSH HARBOUR AND THAT I WOULD BE ENTERING A DOWNWIND LEG TO BE LNDG ON RWY 9 AT MARSH HARBOUR. I CONTINUED W ALSO RPTING THAT I WAS THEN AT THE EASTERN SHORELINE OF THE ISLAND OF GREAT ABACO AND WOULD BE ENTERING A DOWNWIND LEG. WHEN I WAS ABEAM THE XWIND AN SMT PASSED DIRECTLY BENEATH ME AT APPROX 25-50 FT. HE CONTINUED HIS XWIND AND THEN TURNED ONTO A DOWNWIND DEP. HE MADE NO TYPE OF EVASIVE ACTION SO IT APPEARS HE DID NOT SEE ME AT ALL. THE SMT PASSED SO CLOSE THAT EVEN WITH MY HEAD SET ON I HEARD THE NOISE OF THE ENGS AND MY AIRPLANE SHUDDERED. I THEN CALLED ON 122.8 AND ASKED IF ANY ACFT IN THE AREA OF MARSH HARBOUR HAD HEARD AN SMT ON THE FREQ. SEVERAL ACFT RESPONDED WITH A NEGATIVE. I THEN CONTINUED A STANDARD PATTERN RPTING MY POS AS REQUIRED BY BAHAMIAN LAW AS WELL AS BY THE FAA, AND LANDED. I ASKED THE FBO IF HE HAD HEARD THE SMT MAKE ANY CALLS AND HE HAD NOT. I THEN PROCEEDED TO CUSTOMS AND TOLD THEM OF THE INCIDENT AND THEY PROVIDED ME WITH THE N-NUMBER AND THE PLT'S NAME. HE HAD APPARENTLY BACKTRACKED AND DEPARTED A VERY BUSY, UNCTLED, INTL ARPT SVCED BY SEVERAL INTL AIRLINES, WITHOUT RPTING ON HIS RADIO OR PERHAPS WITH HIS RADIO ON THE WRONG FREQ.
