Narrative:

On my first trip after IOE, I was PF into lax. Approach control kept us high on the approach and when cleared to lower altitude I slowed to approximately 190 KTS to descend faster with flaps. I was unaware that we had been assigned 250 KTS. It was my captain's 3RD trip after IOE which he finished approximately 6 weeks ago. Once again, 2 inexperienced (in aircraft type) pilots shouldn't have been assigned to fly together.
