Narrative:

Climbing through 20000 ft on normal scheduled flight phl-alb we lost a hydraulic system. Diverted to ewr (nearest suitable airport) and made uneventful landing on runway 29 in accordance with abnormal checklist. Maintenance towed aircraft to gate. Supplemental information from acn 239794: I was flying the aircraft, gave control of aircraft to captain and pulled out pilots handbook, went to abnormals section for loss of system 'a' hydraulics. We declared an emergency by colts neck VOR for diversion to ewr.
