Narrative:

Third leg of second day of 11 hour, 3 leg duty nights. First officer got clearance and we left cargo ramp toward taxiway 'ff' at phl. Ground controller issued clearance to 'cross 9R, taxi 9R' which was read back correctly. I heard it and acknowledged it but, as I taxied across 9R at ff, I continued ahead on ff instead of turning left on the parallel. I believe I was tired and out of 'habit' continued to 9L, which is the usual takeoff runway for east flow out of phl (9L was closed for work along the edges). We called ready for takeoff at 9L and were cleared for takeoff 9R. As we switched to tower, tower controller (same voice) stated 'cancel takeoff clearance, sir, you're supposed to be at 9R.' we had not acknowledged the takeoff clearance and had not taken the runway at that time yet. Tower cleared the vehicles from the runway environment and allowed us to depart on 9L rather than taxi all the way back to 9R. I believe entire crew was tired as this was only second night of our week-long trip and we were all coming off a week off. We all missed the 9R versus 9L even though we read it back correctly. Tower controller stated there 'was no problem on her end' as I discussed it with her on the ground frequency while she was coordinating our subsequent takeoff on runway 9L. But, I (and my other crew members) felt like complete idiots and were deeply concerned by the potential of my actions.

Title: ACR PIC TAXIES TO WRONG RWY IN NIGHT OP AT PHL.

Narrative: THIRD LEG OF SECOND DAY OF 11 HR, 3 LEG DUTY NIGHTS. FO GOT CLRNC AND WE LEFT CARGO RAMP TOWARD TXWY 'FF' AT PHL. GND CTLR ISSUED CLRNC TO 'CROSS 9R, TAXI 9R' WHICH WAS READ BACK CORRECTLY. I HEARD IT AND ACKNOWLEDGED IT BUT, AS I TAXIED ACROSS 9R AT FF, I CONTINUED AHEAD ON FF INSTEAD OF TURNING L ON THE PARALLEL. I BELIEVE I WAS TIRED AND OUT OF 'HABIT' CONTINUED TO 9L, WHICH IS THE USUAL TKOF RWY FOR E FLOW OUT OF PHL (9L WAS CLOSED FOR WORK ALONG THE EDGES). WE CALLED READY FOR TKOF AT 9L AND WERE CLRED FOR TKOF 9R. AS WE SWITCHED TO TWR, TWR CTLR (SAME VOICE) STATED 'CANCEL TKOF CLRNC, SIR, YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE AT 9R.' WE HAD NOT ACKNOWLEDGED THE TKOF CLRNC AND HAD NOT TAKEN THE RWY AT THAT TIME YET. TWR CLRED THE VEHICLES FROM THE RWY ENVIRONMENT AND ALLOWED US TO DEPART ON 9L RATHER THAN TAXI ALL THE WAY BACK TO 9R. I BELIEVE ENTIRE CREW WAS TIRED AS THIS WAS ONLY SECOND NIGHT OF OUR WK-LONG TRIP AND WE WERE ALL COMING OFF A WK OFF. WE ALL MISSED THE 9R VERSUS 9L EVEN THOUGH WE READ IT BACK CORRECTLY. TWR CTLR STATED THERE 'WAS NO PROB ON HER END' AS I DISCUSSED IT WITH HER ON THE GND FREQ WHILE SHE WAS COORDINATING OUR SUBSEQUENT TKOF ON RWY 9L. BUT, I (AND MY OTHER CREW MEMBERS) FELT LIKE COMPLETE IDIOTS AND WERE DEEPLY CONCERNED BY THE POTENTIAL OF MY ACTIONS.
