Narrative:

Taxi time from the gate until runway 22R is about 8 mins. I failed to warn the flight attendants of the short taxi time, but most begin their safety demonstrations immediately after pushback. Approaching the runway, I listened for the flight attendant briefing and hearing none, I assumed that they were finished. I made my 'prepare for takeoff PA,' and we took off 3 mins later. The flight attendants never called to say that they were not prepared. As a result, we took off without the safety demonstration. The obvious lessons for me are to warn the flight attendants of short taxi times and to listen for the PA despite the heavy workload (checklists and taxi instructions and crew briefings) during short taxies.

Title: AN ACR MLG TOOK OFF WITHOUT DOING THE SAFETY DEMONSTRATION.

Narrative: TAXI TIME FROM THE GATE UNTIL RWY 22R IS ABOUT 8 MINS. I FAILED TO WARN THE FLT ATTENDANTS OF THE SHORT TAXI TIME, BUT MOST BEGIN THEIR SAFETY DEMONSTRATIONS IMMEDIATELY AFTER PUSHBACK. APCHING THE RWY, I LISTENED FOR THE FLT ATTENDANT BRIEFING AND HEARING NONE, I ASSUMED THAT THEY WERE FINISHED. I MADE MY 'PREPARE FOR TKOF PA,' AND WE TOOK OFF 3 MINS LATER. THE FLT ATTENDANTS NEVER CALLED TO SAY THAT THEY WERE NOT PREPARED. AS A RESULT, WE TOOK OFF WITHOUT THE SAFETY DEMONSTRATION. THE OBVIOUS LESSONS FOR ME ARE TO WARN THE FLT ATTENDANTS OF SHORT TAXI TIMES AND TO LISTEN FOR THE PA DESPITE THE HVY WORKLOAD (CHKLISTS AND TAXI INSTRUCTIONS AND CREW BRIEFINGS) DURING SHORT TAXIES.
