Narrative:

Taxiing for departure runway 27, ceiling 200 ft, overcast, light rain, fog, visibility 2 mi. I was unaware of an ILS hold short line in mgm and it was not clearly marked. I feel before mgm and FAA put the ILS hold short line into effect they should be properly prepared with bright hold lines on txwys and signs. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporting captain states that he received his airways clearance while taxiing out and was cleared for takeoff while taxiing. He heard a discussion of ILS hold short lines between another aircraft and the tower which made him think that he might have violated the hold short line as he didn't see it. He was expecting to see lighted signs as well as lines as at bna, his home base.
