Narrative:

During cruise 'cabin pressure' and master warning light illuminated. A check of the cabin altimeter showed 10500 ft and climbing approximately 300 FPM. The 'loss of cabin pressure' emergency checklist was accomplished to no avail. A lower altitude was requested and received from center. The 'rapid descent' checklist was initiated and a rapid descent begun to 10000 ft MSL. As per procedure, ATC was notified and transponder was set to code 7700. When pressure was decreasing, the passenger oxygen masks deployed and flight attendant instructed passenger to use them. An uneventful landing was made at msp. A check by the flight attendants found all passenger to be feeling fine.
