Narrative:

Aircraft legal to fly but numerous MEL's. Among them, autospoilers inoperative. Flew first 2 legs of the day pit-dca- pit uneventfully (except for minor problems unrelated to incident). On third leg, which had a line check airman on jump seat giving me my yrly line check. We attempted to takeoff on runway 28C and got the takeoff warning horn indicating either the parking brake was still set (it wasn't) , the trim was not in the takeoff range (it was), the flaps/slats were not in the takeoff confign (they were), the speed brake handle was not stowed (down/detent) it appeared to be but wasn't (even when physically checked with a lot of force- checked forward and down but not pushed hard enough down). We rejected the takeoff at 105-110 KTS and the aircraft came to a slow taxi without any problem (automatic brake 'rejected takeoff' feature worked fine). We exited the runway and the 3 of us were attempting to find the possible cause. After every item was checked and rechked, the check airman noticed from his seat angle the handle (speed brake) may have been sticking up a hair! This was the cause for the takeoff warning horn. After it was 'jiggled,' it worked fine. Was there dirt in the switch? Was the spring weak? Because the autospoilers were on MEL (circuit breaker collared) did this preclude it from being stowed in the normal fashion? (Check pilot's theory). I went through each checklist item thoroughly as did my first officer but this just goes to show if it can happen, it will.

Title: TKOF ABORTED WHEN TKOF WARNING HORN SOUNDED.

Narrative: ACFT LEGAL TO FLY BUT NUMEROUS MEL'S. AMONG THEM, AUTOSPOILERS INOP. FLEW FIRST 2 LEGS OF THE DAY PIT-DCA- PIT UNEVENTFULLY (EXCEPT FOR MINOR PROBS UNRELATED TO INCIDENT). ON THIRD LEG, WHICH HAD A LINE CHK AIRMAN ON JUMP SEAT GIVING ME MY YRLY LINE CHK. WE ATTEMPTED TO TKOF ON RWY 28C AND GOT THE TKOF WARNING HORN INDICATING EITHER THE PARKING BRAKE WAS STILL SET (IT WASN'T) , THE TRIM WAS NOT IN THE TKOF RANGE (IT WAS), THE FLAPS/SLATS WERE NOT IN THE TKOF CONFIGN (THEY WERE), THE SPD BRAKE HANDLE WAS NOT STOWED (DOWN/DETENT) IT APPEARED TO BE BUT WASN'T (EVEN WHEN PHYSICALLY CHKED WITH A LOT OF FORCE- CHKED FORWARD AND DOWN BUT NOT PUSHED HARD ENOUGH DOWN). WE REJECTED THE TKOF AT 105-110 KTS AND THE ACFT CAME TO A SLOW TAXI WITHOUT ANY PROB (AUTO BRAKE 'RTO' FEATURE WORKED FINE). WE EXITED THE RWY AND THE 3 OF US WERE ATTEMPTING TO FIND THE POSSIBLE CAUSE. AFTER EVERY ITEM WAS CHKED AND RECHKED, THE CHK AIRMAN NOTICED FROM HIS SEAT ANGLE THE HANDLE (SPD BRAKE) MAY HAVE BEEN STICKING UP A HAIR! THIS WAS THE CAUSE FOR THE TKOF WARNING HORN. (CHK PLT'S THEORY). I WENT THROUGH EACH CHKLIST ITEM THOROUGHLY AS DID MY FO BUT THIS JUST GOES TO SHOW IF IT CAN HAPPEN, IT WILL.
