Narrative:

In sum: a low time private small aircraft pilot planned a VFR flight including a landing at guernsey, wy. The pilot got a standard WX briefing from den FSS but did not specifically ask for NOTAMS at guernsey, and none were offered. Upon arrival at guernsey, the reporting pilot called on the published unicom frequency and got a reply from guernsey tower. The pilot left the pattern after a touch and go landing thinking that a unicom operator was 'playing' tower controller. A later call to den FSS confirmed that there indeed was a temporary tower at guernsey for military use. The pilot suggests that the temporary tower should announce itself so, and that FSS should more carefully check the NOTAMS, as she will do in the future.

A LATER CALL TO DEN FSS CONFIRMED THAT THERE INDEED WAS A TEMPORARY TWR AT GUERNSEY FOR MIL USE.
