Narrative:

Captain gave signals to prepare cabin for landing. I did safety check of aft galley doors, carts, and locks. When the plane hit ground I heard a 'bang,' got out of my jumpseat to check. Safety latch had come undone and bar cart hit and turned down the aisle heading toward cockpit. At the speed it was going, I was unable to catch up to it. Bar cart hit cockpit door and knocked cockpit door mostly off, also touching so in cockpit. 2 passenger had bruises, one on his arm on which I immediately applied ice, the other on his side foot. It is my belief that on impact the locks holding the bar cart came undone and at the angle of the plane's landing the brakes did not hold. It is my strong suggestion for takeoff the bar cart be secured in the galley toward the aft of the plane and for landing the bar cart be relocated and secured in galley toward front or forward of the airplane. Also, if possible, as far away from the aisle or seats as possible within galley compartments. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter could not shed any further light on the event, except to say that he was unable to stop this 300 pound missile that somehow came free from its moorings. He has seen 2 other occurrences of this nature, on different type aircraft, however. The air carrier took a rather direct approach towards the cabin team in administering drug tests for them.

Title: BEVERAGE CART BECOMES UNGUIDED MISSILE ON LNDG ROLLOUT ON ACR LGT WHEN RETAINING BRACKETS LET GO. HITS COCKPIT DOOR, DAMAGING ACFT AND IMPARTING SEVERAL MINOR INJURIES TO PAX AND SO.

Narrative: CAPT GAVE SIGNALS TO PREPARE CABIN FOR LNDG. I DID SAFETY CHK OF AFT GALLEY DOORS, CARTS, AND LOCKS. WHEN THE PLANE HIT GND I HEARD A 'BANG,' GOT OUT OF MY JUMPSEAT TO CHK. SAFETY LATCH HAD COME UNDONE AND BAR CART HIT AND TURNED DOWN THE AISLE HDG TOWARD COCKPIT. AT THE SPD IT WAS GOING, I WAS UNABLE TO CATCH UP TO IT. BAR CART HIT COCKPIT DOOR AND KNOCKED COCKPIT DOOR MOSTLY OFF, ALSO TOUCHING SO IN COCKPIT. 2 PAX HAD BRUISES, ONE ON HIS ARM ON WHICH I IMMEDIATELY APPLIED ICE, THE OTHER ON HIS SIDE FOOT. IT IS MY BELIEF THAT ON IMPACT THE LOCKS HOLDING THE BAR CART CAME UNDONE AND AT THE ANGLE OF THE PLANE'S LNDG THE BRAKES DID NOT HOLD. IT IS MY STRONG SUGGESTION FOR TKOF THE BAR CART BE SECURED IN THE GALLEY TOWARD THE AFT OF THE PLANE AND FOR LNDG THE BAR CART BE RELOCATED AND SECURED IN GALLEY TOWARD FRONT OR FORWARD OF THE AIRPLANE. ALSO, IF POSSIBLE, AS FAR AWAY FROM THE AISLE OR SEATS AS POSSIBLE WITHIN GALLEY COMPARTMENTS. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR COULD NOT SHED ANY FURTHER LIGHT ON THE EVENT, EXCEPT TO SAY THAT HE WAS UNABLE TO STOP THIS 300 LB MISSILE THAT SOMEHOW CAME FREE FROM ITS MOORINGS. HE HAS SEEN 2 OTHER OCCURRENCES OF THIS NATURE, ON DIFFERENT TYPE ACFT, HOWEVER. THE ACR TOOK A RATHER DIRECT APCH TOWARDS THE CABIN TEAM IN ADMINISTERING DRUG TESTS FOR THEM.
