Narrative:

Level 5000 MSL 15 NM north/northwest of bur on approach to landing at bur runway 8. While being radar vectored to ILS GPWS gives terrain and pull up warnings. Captain immediately climbs and we level at 6000 ft with no further warnings. Approach notified immediately. Apparently, equipment malfunction. MVA was 5000 ft in area. Approach continued with no further warnings or incidents.
