Narrative:

Leaving 7000 ft for 6000 ft at sweet intersection (bwz 302 degree radial, 5 DME) on the williamsport 1 arrival to ewr, had TCASII message 'traffic' immediately followed by RA 'climb, climb now.' climbed rapidly to 7800 ft when TCASII advised 'clear conflict.' ATC said they noticed traffic after we began climb. PNF advised ATC when we began climb.
