Narrative:

After takeoff at jax, when positive rate of climb was established, the first officer called for gear up, and the landing gear handle would not move past the off position and landing gear would not retract. We recycled the gear with no result. I assumed control of the aircraft, requested to level off at 2000 ft MSL, and asked the departure controller if we could maintain runway heading until the problem was resolved. At that point I had the first officer get out his pilot's handbook, check the circuit breaker panels, and run the appropriate checklist. A circuit breaker had popped and was determined to be the cause of the problem. After resetting the circuit breaker and retracting the gear, we proceeded without incident.

Title: MLG UNABLE TO RETRACT GEAR AFTER TKOF. FINDS CIRCUIT BREAKER POPPED.

Narrative: AFTER TKOF AT JAX, WHEN POSITIVE RATE OF CLB WAS ESTABLISHED, THE FO CALLED FOR GEAR UP, AND THE LNDG GEAR HANDLE WOULD NOT MOVE PAST THE OFF POS AND LNDG GEAR WOULD NOT RETRACT. WE RECYCLED THE GEAR WITH NO RESULT. I ASSUMED CTL OF THE ACFT, REQUESTED TO LEVEL OFF AT 2000 FT MSL, AND ASKED THE DEP CTLR IF WE COULD MAINTAIN RWY HDG UNTIL THE PROB WAS RESOLVED. AT THAT POINT I HAD THE FO GET OUT HIS PLT'S HANDBOOK, CHK THE CIRCUIT BREAKER PANELS, AND RUN THE APPROPRIATE CHKLIST. A CIRCUIT BREAKER HAD POPPED AND WAS DETERMINED TO BE THE CAUSE OF THE PROB. AFTER RESETTING THE CIRCUIT BREAKER AND RETRACTING THE GEAR, WE PROCEEDED WITHOUT INCIDENT.
