Narrative:

I flew flight pit to evv. After a routine departure from runway 28C, we proceeded with assigned left turn to the south and on course. After passing about 5000 ft, we noticed a white cockpit dome light coming on by itself. A moment later the first officer read on the right MFDU that #2 dc bus failed. I instructed first officer to pursue the problem and told him that I will fly the airplane and handle ATC. First officer found circuit breaker tru 2 sply popped out. We decided to try to reset it once, but it popped out again immediately, followed by multiple messages coming up on the both left and right MFDU's. We decided that this was not an ordinary electronic glitch and requested a return to pit. We were given nice cooperation from ATC, and with a very clear night, unlimited visibility, and smooth air, we encountered no problems whatsoever in handling the aircraft. We executed a visual approach to runway 28L, and returned uneventfully to the gate. Maintenance found a bad #2 tru and replaced same.
