Narrative:

The clearance to taxi situation at dtw metropolitan airport needs clarification: the aim states when you are cleared to the runway in question, you are cleared to cross all taxiways to the hold short line for the intended runway used for takeoff. Dtw has issued a 10-8 plate to supersede the aim, stating that you must contact another ground controller to use the east runways (21L and 21C) and also don't taxi passed the c-concourse without contacting the east ground controller. The definition of passing the c-concourse is 'very' poor and should be further and fully illustrated as to your (our) present position. The circumventing of the aim is a violation of basic aviation skills and applications. Please bring the pressure toward the FAA and dtw airport to change the taxi procedure!
