Narrative:
During my flight to slc, I decided to request flight following with ZLC. As we neared slc TCA, I obtained the ATIS information for slc international and advised ZLC that I had the ATIS and was landing salt lake international. Center acknowledged and said they would turn me over to approach control shortly. When I was right at the boundary of the TCA, center told me to squawk 1200 and contact approach control. By the time I switched frequencys and called approach control (approximately 15 seconds) I was in the TCA. Approach warned me that I was in the TCA without a clearance. They then vectored me back out of the TCA and then cleared me back in. I feel that I was setup and misled by ZLC. The reason I contacted ZLC to start with was to be with radar service into slc. To be taken to the very edge of the TCA and suddenly dropped is not what I was expecting. This will not happen again. I will always be on an IFR flight plan prior to entering a TCA in the future. I am very unhappy about this incident and feel that radar service for the purpose of entrapment is a detriment to the safety of flight.

Title: AIR TAXI ENTERS TCA WITHOUT CLRNC EVEN THOUGH REQUESTED OF CTR.
Narrative: DURING MY FLT TO SLC, I DECIDED TO REQUEST FLT FOLLOWING WITH ZLC. AS WE NEARED SLC TCA, I OBTAINED THE ATIS INFO FOR SLC INTL AND ADVISED ZLC THAT I HAD THE ATIS AND WAS LNDG SALT LAKE INTL. CTR ACKNOWLEDGED AND SAID THEY WOULD TURN ME OVER TO APCH CTL SHORTLY. WHEN I WAS RIGHT AT THE BOUNDARY OF THE TCA, CTR TOLD ME TO SQUAWK 1200 AND CONTACT APCH CTL. BY THE TIME I SWITCHED FREQS AND CALLED APCH CTL (APPROX 15 SECONDS) I WAS IN THE TCA. APCH WARNED ME THAT I WAS IN THE TCA WITHOUT A CLRNC. THEY THEN VECTORED ME BACK OUT OF THE TCA AND THEN CLRED ME BACK IN. I FEEL THAT I WAS SETUP AND MISLED BY ZLC. THE REASON I CONTACTED ZLC TO START WITH WAS TO BE WITH RADAR SVC INTO SLC. TO BE TAKEN TO THE VERY EDGE OF THE TCA AND SUDDENLY DROPPED IS NOT WHAT I WAS EXPECTING. THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. I WILL ALWAYS BE ON AN IFR FLT PLAN PRIOR TO ENTERING A TCA IN THE FUTURE. I AM VERY UNHAPPY ABOUT THIS INCIDENT AND FEEL THAT RADAR SVC FOR THE PURPOSE OF ENTRAPMENT IS A DETRIMENT TO THE SAFETY OF FLT.
