Narrative:

Flight was cleared to descend to 3000 by dulles approach. When at 7000 our original altitude, we received a TA from our TCASII. We followed it which it told us to climb. We climbed to 7500 until we were clear of the conflict. ATC was advised of what happened. The controller then cleared us again to 3000 ft in which we did. The traffic was never seen. There was no other questions asked. We proceeded on to iad.
