Narrative:

I wish to acknowledge performing an aerobatic maneuver in the carlsbad, NM, control zone between XX00-XB00 hours on jul/fri/92. I had been working with a maintenance facility and 3 other pilots at carlsbad airport for the previous 3 days trying to get a jet ready for ferry back to our company in al. Prior to my departure in MTR aircraft, several requests were made for me to perform a couple aerobatic maneuvers on departure and I stated to these individuals I would not perform any unauthorized maneuvers. After departure, I made a 270 degree turn back across airport to an eastbound heading for al. As usual, with a group of individuals associated with flying and maintaining these type aerobatic aircraft, most of my associates were standing in front of hangar, making suggestive motions -- and that's when I decided to make a pass down runway 14L. I received FSS advisories prior to taxi and also takeoff with negative reporting traffic. WX was clear, no other traffic was observed, and I felt a roll was safe (I have a surface aerobatic competency card) so I pulled up the nose, rolled to left and rolled out toward al. This action by me does not represent a trend of total disregard for authority, but a lapse of proper judgement. I have 23000 flying hours and have never been cited for any infraction of any FAA regulations.

Title: PLT IN MTR DOES AEROBATIC MANEUVERS OVER RWY AT UNCTLED ARPT.

Narrative: I WISH TO ACKNOWLEDGE PERFORMING AN AEROBATIC MANEUVER IN THE CARLSBAD, NM, CTL ZONE BTWN XX00-XB00 HRS ON JUL/FRI/92. PRIOR TO MY DEP IN MTR ACFT, SEVERAL REQUESTS WERE MADE FOR ME TO PERFORM A COUPLE AEROBATIC MANEUVERS ON DEP AND I STATED TO THESE INDIVIDUALS I WOULD NOT PERFORM ANY UNAUTHORIZED MANEUVERS. AFTER DEP, I MADE A 270 DEG TURN BACK ACROSS ARPT TO AN EBOUND HDG FOR AL. AS USUAL, WITH A GROUP OF INDIVIDUALS ASSOCIATED WITH FLYING AND MAINTAINING THESE TYPE AEROBATIC ACFT, MOST OF MY ASSOCIATES WERE STANDING IN FRONT OF HANGAR, MAKING SUGGESTIVE MOTIONS -- AND THAT'S WHEN I DECIDED TO MAKE A PASS DOWN RWY 14L.
