Narrative:

#1 engine shutdown because of high oil temperature due to maintenance placing inoperative valve in wrong position. All checklist done properly. Aircraft turned over to copilot. Captain and so did checklist. Copilot forgot to set 29.92 in altimeter and I did not declare an emergency. Looking back I should have declared an emergency, but because of aircraft performance I did not. However, I did call for fire trucks and aircraft was stopped normal distance. Supplemental information from acn 217552. Valve position was subsequently remedied by maintenance. Supplemental information from acn 217649. Deviated slightly during climb out over altitude.
