Narrative:

The purpose of this training flight was to give this private pilot a signoff in high performance airplane required by FBO at the aurora airport. The private pilot needed 5 hours in a high performance aircraft to meet the requirements put out by FBO. We were building time toward this signoff. This particular day we decided to stay in the pattern and do touch-and-goes. The incident occurred upon our first landing. Both pilots observed a green light and visually observed the main wheels down on the downwind, base, and final legs of the pattern. Finally, it was upon a soft and smooth landing, power back to idle after the mains had touched and upon contact from the nosewheel that the nosewheel had collapsed causing the propeller to come in contact with the runway. There was minor damage and no injuries to either pilot aboard. Qualified witnesses confirmed that all 3 wheels were down upon landing and the gear lever was in the down position.
