Narrative:
On base leg (maneuvering flaps) we were cleared by center for visual to 28 at gnv. Immediately after accepting the visual center reported pop up traffic at 11-12 O'clock level. I noticed an RA on the TCASII followed by oral and visual commands to pull up. After climbing 2-300 ft I noticed a twin (white) cross under us about 200 ft below. The alert controller at ZJX reinforced by the RA command that immediately followed, prevented a possible midair. TCASII works.
