Narrative:

Following touch and go landing at 4r4, the medium large transport was retracted. On downwind leg the hydraulic pressure was checked before lowering the gear. It was 0 and the hydraulic pump was caveating. Pilot gave 'a shot' on the hand pump to give the pump 'something to work on.' nothing. Preparation was made to land 'gear up' at 4r4. Upon turning final for landing on the grass median, the left medium large transport appeared to have come down locked: a totally unsatisfactory condition! Pilot attempted to get the other gear down. Both medium large transport's came down but not locked. Pilot attempted to 'drag' the gear into a locked position by skidding down the runway, one wheel at a time. They would not lock. Aircraft was then taken to 5r4 and landed on the grass median, between runway 19 and taxiway, an area the 'tail draggers' use. Another attempt was made to 'drag' the medium large transport locked. Stbd medium large transport contacted a ditch and flying speed was lost. Aircraft bounced and nose gear came down and locked -- both medium large transport folded and the aircraft came to rest on hull and nose gear. Minor damage.

Title: AN SMA HAD A HYD FAILURE CAUSING THE ACFT TO LAND WITH ONLY THE NOSE GEAR LOCKED DOWN. THERE WAS MINOR DAMAGE AND NO RPTED INJURY.

Narrative: FOLLOWING TOUCH AND GO LNDG AT 4R4, THE MLG WAS RETRACTED. ON DOWNWIND LEG THE HYD PRESSURE WAS CHKED BEFORE LOWERING THE GEAR. IT WAS 0 AND THE HYD PUMP WAS CAVEATING. PLT GAVE 'A SHOT' ON THE HAND PUMP TO GIVE THE PUMP 'SOMETHING TO WORK ON.' NOTHING. PREPARATION WAS MADE TO LAND 'GEAR UP' AT 4R4. UPON TURNING FINAL FOR LNDG ON THE GRASS MEDIAN, THE L MLG APPEARED TO HAVE COME DOWN LOCKED: A TOTALLY UNSATISFACTORY CONDITION! PLT ATTEMPTED TO GET THE OTHER GEAR DOWN. BOTH MLG'S CAME DOWN BUT NOT LOCKED. PLT ATTEMPTED TO 'DRAG' THE GEAR INTO A LOCKED POS BY SKIDDING DOWN THE RWY, ONE WHEEL AT A TIME. THEY WOULD NOT LOCK. ACFT WAS THEN TAKEN TO 5R4 AND LANDED ON THE GRASS MEDIAN, BTWN RWY 19 AND TAXIWAY, AN AREA THE 'TAIL DRAGGERS' USE. ANOTHER ATTEMPT WAS MADE TO 'DRAG' THE MLG LOCKED. STBD MLG CONTACTED A DITCH AND FLYING SPD WAS LOST. ACFT BOUNCED AND NOSE GEAR CAME DOWN AND LOCKED -- BOTH MLG FOLDED AND THE ACFT CAME TO REST ON HULL AND NOSE GEAR. MINOR DAMAGE.
