Narrative:

While intercepting the 36L localizer at clt we overshot due to a late turn on and we got a TCASII warning and then a command to descend. The aircraft turned out to be behind us but in a turn it was difficult to ascertain at first. We descended about 400 ft and the warning stopped, then we returned to 3000 ft and continued the approach. After alerting ATC they confirmed the traffic was behind us.
