Narrative:
Received WX briefing from sea FSS for flight to watsonville. Briefer gave NOTAM information for watsonville: temporary ATC tower in effect as follows, fri x-xx, sat x-xx, sun x-xx. In a follow up briefing on friday morning, the NOTAM was reiterated as outlined above. On monday morning I received a WX briefing from area FSS on telephone. Got standard WX briefing received no NOTAMS on watsonville. Assumed tower was in fact closed. Taxied to active runway, announced intentions on CTAF and departed runway 22. En route to ukiah, ca, pilot learned tower was to be operational on monday until XX00 local time. Pilot landed at ukiah, and during briefing at ukiah, ca, FSS confirmed NOTAM for watsonville tower was effective through XX00 local time on F/mon/92.

Narrative: RECEIVED WX BRIEFING FROM SEA FSS FOR FLT TO WATSONVILLE. BRIEFER GAVE NOTAM INFO FOR WATSONVILLE: TEMPORARY ATC TWR IN EFFECT AS FOLLOWS, FRI X-XX, SAT X-XX, SUN X-XX. IN A FOLLOW UP BRIEFING ON FRIDAY MORNING, THE NOTAM WAS REITERATED AS OUTLINED ABOVE. ON MONDAY MORNING I RECEIVED A WX BRIEFING FROM AREA FSS ON TELEPHONE. GOT STANDARD WX BRIEFING RECEIVED NO NOTAMS ON WATSONVILLE. ASSUMED TWR WAS IN FACT CLOSED. TAXIED TO ACTIVE RWY, ANNOUNCED INTENTIONS ON CTAF AND DEPARTED RWY 22.
