Narrative:
During taxi in to gate, while following signal from ground personnel, #1 engine nose cowling made contact with the jetway doing damage to nose cowl. Area was clear and appeared safe to taxi in, but ground man stopped aircraft at wrong stripe and error caused contact. In future, will not let enthusiasm allow me to taxi in without full complement of wing walkers.

Title: MLG TAXIING INTO GATE FOLLOWING SIGNAL MAN HAS ENG COWL HIT JETWAY. GUIDANCE TO WRONG STRIPE.
Narrative: DURING TAXI IN TO GATE, WHILE FOLLOWING SIGNAL FROM GND PERSONNEL, #1 ENG NOSE COWLING MADE CONTACT WITH THE JETWAY DOING DAMAGE TO NOSE COWL. AREA WAS CLR AND APPEARED SAFE TO TAXI IN, BUT GND MAN STOPPED ACFT AT WRONG STRIPE AND ERROR CAUSED CONTACT. IN FUTURE, WILL NOT LET ENTHUSIASM ALLOW ME TO TAXI IN WITHOUT FULL COMPLEMENT OF WING WALKERS.
