Passenger door on small aircraft twin opened in flight. Airplane yawed to right. Pilot added full power, could not close door. Airplane performed as though right engine was out. Added full left rudder. Much nose and vibration. Landed safely at apa after emergency was declared to denver approach. Apa tower reminded pilot to lower gear. Pilot was not going through landing checklist until reminded by tower on final.
