Narrative:
Air carrier X on a vector to the final approach course to runway 30L at sjc and level at 9000 ft. TCASII gave us a TA which showed an aircraft Y at 12 O'clock 500 ft below. Then as we approached closer to traffic it started to climb until we received an RA to climb. I promptly executed a climb in accordance to the TCASII. We left our altitude and climbed to 9500 ft MSL until clear of conflict. Reported RA to sjc approach. Never received TAS or a visual on aircraft Y.

Narrative: ACR X ON A VECTOR TO THE FINAL APCH COURSE TO RWY 30L AT SJC AND LEVEL AT 9000 FT. TCASII GAVE US A TA WHICH SHOWED AN ACFT Y AT 12 O'CLOCK 500 FT BELOW. THEN AS WE APCHED CLOSER TO TFC IT STARTED TO CLB UNTIL WE RECEIVED AN RA TO CLB. I PROMPTLY EXECUTED A CLB IN ACCORDANCE TO THE TCASII. WE LEFT OUR ALT AND CLBED TO 9500 FT MSL UNTIL CLR OF CONFLICT. RPTED RA TO SJC APCH. NEVER RECEIVED TAS OR A VISUAL ON ACFT Y.
