Narrative:

When downwind, I was advised of other traffic and looked for it. I was #2 to land. I turned from downwind (270) to right base (360) after landing traffic on final to runway 9 passed me inbound. That landing traffic then was about 2 O'clock from me when on base. I considered spacing adequate. The tower advised me to continue base (360) through runway heading (090) and then perform a 270 to left to runway heading for spacing. I complied. My landing checklist procedure was interrupted by the unanticipated maneuvering request by tower. At the end of the requested maneuver, I was on short final with what appeared to be a normal stabilized approach. I landed gear- up, and the aircraft sustained damage to its propellers and minor skin damage. Suggest tower personnel be reminded that unusual requests on approach may warrant closer than normal surveillance.

Title: GEAR UP LNDG.

Narrative: WHEN DOWNWIND, I WAS ADVISED OF OTHER TFC AND LOOKED FOR IT. I WAS #2 TO LAND. I TURNED FROM DOWNWIND (270) TO R BASE (360) AFTER LNDG TFC ON FINAL TO RWY 9 PASSED ME INBOUND. THAT LNDG TFC THEN WAS ABOUT 2 O'CLOCK FROM ME WHEN ON BASE. I CONSIDERED SPACING ADEQUATE. THE TWR ADVISED ME TO CONTINUE BASE (360) THROUGH RWY HDG (090) AND THEN PERFORM A 270 TO L TO RWY HDG FOR SPACING. I COMPLIED. MY LNDG CHKLIST PROC WAS INTERRUPTED BY THE UNANTICIPATED MANEUVERING REQUEST BY TWR. AT THE END OF THE REQUESTED MANEUVER, I WAS ON SHORT FINAL WITH WHAT APPEARED TO BE A NORMAL STABILIZED APCH. I LANDED GEAR- UP, AND THE ACFT SUSTAINED DAMAGE TO ITS PROPS AND MINOR SKIN DAMAGE. SUGGEST TWR PERSONNEL BE REMINDED THAT UNUSUAL REQUESTS ON APCH MAY WARRANT CLOSER THAN NORMAL SURVEILLANCE.
