Narrative:

While taxiing into our ramp (air carrier) in stl with a flagman in front and a wing walker on left side, my aircraft appeared to pass very close to other aircraft's wing tip. They passed close enough together that the ramp personnel thought we should call maintenance to check aircraft wing tips. This encounter happened while the flagman was still trying to get my aircraft to continue taxiing. If I would have continued, there could or would have been substantial damage to both aircraft. There appears to be a need for better lighting on ramps, better communications between rampers and pilots and just between rampers. There also may be a need to have some kind of rules for min distances between aircraft on ground, especially wing tip to wing tip because the view from the cockpit is not very good.
