Narrative:
On mar/tues/92 at AM00 local time, I was working a flight from wrb to cef. Shortly after takeoff, on climb out we got a fire warning bell, but no fire warning light (aircraft was an large transport). We suspected that this was a false warning, which in fact it later turned out to be, but the captain elected to return to wrb. I notified macon approach of our intentions and they assigned us a return heading and clearance to descend . They also advised us to 'report the airport in sight.' on descent, we were extremely busy completing our checklists, when both the captain and I saw what we believed to be the destination airport. We reported that airport in sight and received clearance for a visual approach to warner robins AFB. In fact that we were looking at was the herbert west. Smart airport. Which also has a very long, wide runway. We had already commenced a visual approach to herbert west smart. So we 'went around' and an uneventful landing was made at wrb.

Title: WRONG ARPT APCH COMMENCED, RECOGNIZED AND MISSED APCH EXECUTED.
Narrative: ON MAR/TUES/92 AT AM00 LCL TIME, I WAS WORKING A FLT FROM WRB TO CEF. SHORTLY AFTER TKOF, ON CLBOUT WE GOT A FIRE WARNING BELL, BUT NO FIRE WARNING LIGHT (ACFT WAS AN LGT). WE SUSPECTED THAT THIS WAS A FALSE WARNING, WHICH IN FACT IT LATER TURNED OUT TO BE, BUT THE CAPT ELECTED TO RETURN TO WRB. I NOTIFIED MACON APCH OF OUR INTENTIONS AND THEY ASSIGNED US A RETURN HDG AND CLRNC TO DSND . THEY ALSO ADVISED US TO 'RPT THE ARPT IN SIGHT.' ON DSCNT, WE WERE EXTREMELY BUSY COMPLETING OUR CHKLISTS, WHEN BOTH THE CAPT AND I SAW WHAT WE BELIEVED TO BE THE DEST ARPT. WE RPTED THAT ARPT IN SIGHT AND RECEIVED CLRNC FOR A VISUAL APCH TO WARNER ROBINS AFB. IN FACT THAT WE WERE LOOKING AT WAS THE HERBERT W. SMART ARPT. WHICH ALSO HAS A VERY LONG, WIDE RWY. WE HAD ALREADY COMMENCED A VISUAL APCH TO HERBERT W SMART. SO WE 'WENT AROUND' AND AN UNEVENTFUL LNDG WAS MADE AT WRB.
