Narrative:
As a training flight involving single engine operations and other multi-engine emergencys, we were en route to concord airport for touch and goes to practice emergencys. I was in control of the radios and received from tower 'make right traffic runway 19.' knowing the runway layout well, I falsely pictured myself in a pattern for runway 1 and called up tower to insist that left traffic would better suit me for runway 19. They granted me the left traffic. After that, I didn't give it a second thought and began to fail engines and landing gear motors. My mistake was complacency with my first interpretation of the instructions even though they were wrong. After that, I made the mistake of getting so involved in the flight lesson I didn't realize the mistake until very short final. At that time, I did a go around and returned to runway 19 via a teardrop pattern at tower's request.

AFTER THAT, I MADE THE MISTAKE OF GETTING SO INVOLVED IN THE FLT LESSON I DIDN'T REALIZE THE MISTAKE UNTIL VERY SHORT FINAL. AT THAT TIME, I DID A GAR AND RETURNED TO RWY 19 VIA A TEARDROP PATTERN AT TWR'S REQUEST.
