Narrative:

On sat/feb/92 and wed/feb/92 I was first officer on mdt to den. A check of the logbook prior to the first flight failed to uncover an open maintenance writeup from the previous day feb. And the flts listed above were all conducted with the open writeup. Many factors contributed to this oversight but 2 are worth considering. The writeup was 4 days old and in an old logbook which still accompanied the aircraft. 2 line checks had missed it. This situation certainly contributed to my oversight.

Title: ACR FLC ACCEPTS AND FLIES MDT WITH AN UNDISCLOSED AND UNSIGNED CORRECTED MAINT WRITE UP IN LOGBOOK. ACFT MAINT DISCREPANCY.

Narrative: ON SAT/FEB/92 AND WED/FEB/92 I WAS FO ON MDT TO DEN. A CHK OF THE LOGBOOK PRIOR TO THE FIRST FLT FAILED TO UNCOVER AN OPEN MAINT WRITEUP FROM THE PREVIOUS DAY FEB. THE WRITEUP WAS 4 DAYS OLD AND IN AN OLD LOGBOOK WHICH STILL ACCOMPANIED THE ACFT. 2 LINE CHKS HAD MISSED IT. THIS SITUATION CERTAINLY CONTRIBUTED TO MY OVERSIGHT.
