Narrative:

Due to a faulty copilot microphone switch which grounded out aircraft's radios, we copied the wrong altitude coming out of atlanta, in VFR conditions. Returned to correct altitude when instructed to do so by ATC. Copilot microphone switch replaced on completion of flight.
