Narrative:

Incident occurred in an arrival sector for orlando-daytona approach radar was out for maintenance for several hours below the sector, so the center assumed control of 4000 of approach airspace. This additional workload caused the sector to saturate several different times. Air carrier X got within one mi of an adjoining center sector without that sector being advised. This is merely a case of not following procedure which calls for a point out before 2 1/2 mi from an adjoining sector.
