Narrative:

While positioning company aircraft to park at the newark airport, the left wing tip made contact with right wing of other company aircraft. This mishap occurred due to the congestion on the ramp of the gate area. There are no parking lines for commuter aircraft at the gate area and no authorized marshallers available to our company. Because of these 2 factors, there is inconsistent positions of parked commuter aircraft at the gate. In my opinion, this mishap could have been avoided if painted lines were available for positioning parked aircraft. It would also be a safer operation with available authorized marshallers. This would standardize parking commuter aircraft and assure proper clearance between aircraft.
