Narrative:

ATIS clt advertising ILS 36L and right. When switched to approach control (frequency 125.35) controller advised to expect ILS 36L. Advised captain that I would be off frequency to identify navaids. After we were switched to frequency 119.00 and told to turn left. Returned to frequency and advised captain that navaids were idented and were there any changes. Since I had seen him make 1 transmission. He said yes we were to descend to 2500 ft. Controller gave us another turn to intercept the localizer and we were cleared for the approach. We intercepted the 36L localizer and after 20 seconds controller advised us that we were to shoot the 36R approach. I advised the controller that I had never acknowledged a change from the previous controller's instructions to expect the 36L approach. He said that he had advised us but to continue the 36L approach which we did and landed. Several things are responsible here. I personally never acknowledged a change of runways. To the best of my memory, I acknowledged and read back cleared for ILS 36L approach and was not corrected. However, we were told to descend to an initial altitude for the 36R approach and were told to hold a speed to the 36R marker. We should have taken that as a clue. I can only attribute us not picking up on that as a result of this being the last leg of a 4-DAY trip that was approximately 6.5 hours of flying in the last 3 days.

Narrative: ATIS CLT ADVERTISING ILS 36L AND R. WHEN SWITCHED TO APCH CTL (FREQ 125.35) CTLR ADVISED TO EXPECT ILS 36L. ADVISED CAPT THAT I WOULD BE OFF FREQ TO IDENT NAVAIDS. AFTER WE WERE SWITCHED TO FREQ 119.00 AND TOLD TO TURN L. RETURNED TO FREQ AND ADVISED CAPT THAT NAVAIDS WERE IDENTED AND WERE THERE ANY CHANGES. SINCE I HAD SEEN HIM MAKE 1 XMISSION. HE SAID YES WE WERE TO DSND TO 2500 FT. CTLR GAVE US ANOTHER TURN TO INTERCEPT THE LOC AND WE WERE CLRED FOR THE APCH. WE INTERCEPTED THE 36L LOC AND AFTER 20 SECONDS CTLR ADVISED US THAT WE WERE TO SHOOT THE 36R APCH. I ADVISED THE CTLR THAT I HAD NEVER ACKNOWLEDGED A CHANGE FROM THE PREVIOUS CTLR'S INSTRUCTIONS TO EXPECT THE 36L APCH. HE SAID THAT HE HAD ADVISED US BUT TO CONTINUE THE 36L APCH WHICH WE DID AND LANDED. SEVERAL THINGS ARE RESPONSIBLE HERE. I PERSONALLY NEVER ACKNOWLEDGED A CHANGE OF RWYS. TO THE BEST OF MY MEMORY, I ACKNOWLEDGED AND READ BACK CLRED FOR ILS 36L APCH AND WAS NOT CORRECTED. HOWEVER, WE WERE TOLD TO DSND TO AN INITIAL ALT FOR THE 36R APCH AND WERE TOLD TO HOLD A SPD TO THE 36R MARKER. WE SHOULD HAVE TAKEN THAT AS A CLUE. I CAN ONLY ATTRIBUTE US NOT PICKING UP ON THAT AS A RESULT OF THIS BEING THE LAST LEG OF A 4-DAY TRIP THAT WAS APPROX 6.5 HRS OF FLYING IN THE LAST 3 DAYS.
