Narrative:

I called sector 4 with plan to descend large transport X to FL310 for traffic. They requested control for right turn and descent on same aircraft. I did not reference an overflt. I had medium large transport Y that I thought was no factor and would cross 20-25 mi behind at FL350. The large transport X flight was on a heading of 315 degrees and sector 4 on contact turned large transport X to 020 degrees heading for spacing (65 degree right turn). We also had winds of 310 degrees at 100 KTS at the time. A min later I noticed large transport X was turning into medium large transport Y. I instructed medium large transport Y to turn 50 degrees left immediately, then called sector 4 to turn large transport X immediately. Conflict alert never went off! Separation lost. I never expected sector 4 controller to turn large transport X 65 degrees to right. With the strong winds the end result of the turn was almost 90 degrees (excessive).

Title: ARTCC RADAR CTLR RELEASED CTL OF LGT FOR R TURN AND DSCNT TO ADJACENT SECTOR, WITHOUT POINTING OUT CONFLICTING TFC. LTSS OCCURRED.

Narrative: I CALLED SECTOR 4 WITH PLAN TO DSND LGT X TO FL310 FOR TFC. THEY REQUESTED CTL FOR R TURN AND DSCNT ON SAME ACFT. I DID NOT REF AN OVERFLT. I HAD MLG Y THAT I THOUGHT WAS NO FACTOR AND WOULD CROSS 20-25 MI BEHIND AT FL350. THE LGT X FLT WAS ON A HDG OF 315 DEGS AND SECTOR 4 ON CONTACT TURNED LGT X TO 020 DEGS HDG FOR SPACING (65 DEG R TURN). WE ALSO HAD WINDS OF 310 DEGS AT 100 KTS AT THE TIME. A MIN LATER I NOTICED LGT X WAS TURNING INTO MLG Y. I INSTRUCTED MLG Y TO TURN 50 DEGS L IMMEDIATELY, THEN CALLED SECTOR 4 TO TURN LGT X IMMEDIATELY. CONFLICT ALERT NEVER WENT OFF! SEPARATION LOST. I NEVER EXPECTED SECTOR 4 CTLR TO TURN LGT X 65 DEGS TO R. WITH THE STRONG WINDS THE END RESULT OF THE TURN WAS ALMOST 90 DEGS (EXCESSIVE).
